Wyoming County To Get $300,000 For Flood Debris Removal BEAVER, W. Va. -- The Wyoming County Commission will receive nearly $300,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (WVDHSEM) to cover the full cost of debris removal after the June 12-29 storms and flooding. Flood Funding Rises Above $3 Million Mark BEAVER, W. Va. -- More than $3 million has been approved in federal disaster grants and low interest loans to help West Virginians affected by the June 12-29 severe storms, flooding, mudslides and landslides. $15.4 Million In Federal Funds To Maryland For December And February Storms REISTERSTOWN, Md. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has obligated a total of $15,433,361 in Public Assistance (PA) funds to Maryland for the December 18-20, 2009, and the February 5-11, 2010, severe winter storms and snowstorms. The storms resulted in Federal disaster declarations. The State will be reimbursed at 75 percent to help speed its recovery. Additional funds will be obligated as FEMA continues to process project worksheets for costs associated with the disasters. FEMA To Evaluate Readiness Of Virginia PHILADELPHIA -- The Department of Homeland Securitys Federal Emergency Management Agency will evaluate a Biennial Emergency Preparedness Exercise at the North Anna Power Station. The week-long exercise, which will begin on July 19, will test the ability of the Commonwealth of Virginia to respond to an emergency at the nuclear facility. Lewis County Added To Disaster Unemployment Assistance BEAVER, W. Va. -- People who live or work in Lewis County may apply for disaster unemployment benefits if they lost income because of June storms. Lewis joins Logan, McDowell, Mingo and Wyoming counties in the program. Disaster Recovery Centers Will Operate Six Days Per Week |
